Ross Burack has had an interest in business for most of his life. His educational background is evidence of this, as he earned his Bachelor’s in Entrepreneurship, Sales, and Marketing from Syracuse University’s Whitman School of Business in 2011. Living in New York City, Ross gained inspiration from the innumerable companies around him, leading him to open his first business, Choza Taqueria, in 2012.

Choza Taqueria is a fast-casual Mexican restaurant that sets itself apart with its menu, which harkens back to roadside food stands in northern Mexico. This cuisine has always been a favorite of Ross, and when he noticed the fast-casual market booming, he knew this was a perfect combination. Now, Choza Taqueria has four locations around New York City, and Ross hopes to expand further in the future.

Although Ross Burack has started his own business, he has also worked with Winick Realty, LLC as their Director of Retail/Office Leasing & Sales since 2009. In this role, he has paired businesses with office spaces that capitalize on their needs while helping property owners market and renovate their properties to stay competitive. Through his work with Winick Realty, LLC, Ross has continued to expand his business knowledge, particularly around the areas of marketing and sales. Ross must stay up-to-date on the latest demographic trends and traffic patterns to determine which locations are best for specific businesses, which has helped him to locate ideal locations for his own business.

Skills and Goals

From his years of experience working with Choza Taqueria and Winick Realty, LLC, Ross Burack has gained significant skills in the marketing and sales realm. With Choza Taqueria, he has mainly put his efforts toward location selection, lease negotiations, and store design and construction. With Winick Realty, LLC, Ross has developed marketing materials for his clients.

Although Choza Taqueria and Winick Realty, LLC are Ross Burack’s primary focuses at this time, he hopes to expand his business endeavors in the future. Ross also hopes to help new entrepreneurs learn from his experiences and understand the many aspects of the business world. Marketing, in particular, is Ross’s passion, and he aims to demystify the subject for business owners who are not as familiar with the people side of business operations.

Ultimately, Ross Burack’s primary goal is to increase business, provide new opportunities for people to learn from his experiences, and eventually expand his reach beyond his two current positions. He looks forward to accomplishing each of these goals.
